On 20 Sep 2026, Munich's Arcos closed a €5.5 million seed to build and operate one civil-security stack for homes, commercial sites, and critical infrastructure (substations, rail, data centres). Investors: HTGF (BMWE / KfW Capital backers), Bayern Kapital, Pact, Haufe, Robin Capital, plus angels (HTGF / Tech.eu, 18-19 Sep). Platform fuses sensor signals with incident handling in one control centre; company runs both software and ops so workflows update from real nights, not vendor tickets. Next: Security Essen 22-25 Sep, then wider European markets.
Why it matters: More sensors, fewer operators is the KRITIS problem. Europe keeps writing resilience papers. Arcos is selling the person who actually looks. Edition candidate: civil security as industrial product, not a municipal procurement afterthought.

Ukrainian-Estonian Korven Systems is building OraVision, a terminal-guidance / autopilot stack for interceptor drones aimed at Shahed-class targets above 450 km/h (Defender Media, 18 Sep). Sensor fusion with Lithuanian Valkyrie Dynamics compact radar; onboard compute from Ukrainian DroneMateAI to cut Raspberry Pi dependence; MoU with Black Bird for airframe integration. Autonomy-as-a-service model plus Ora Mission Control to split mobile fire-group prep from remote operators.
Why it matters: Interceptor scarcity is not only airframes. It is pilots, night weather, and kits that keep flying when the link dies. Baltic-Ukrainian stack with named partners is the product shape Europe keeps asking for.

China's CXMT said its fifth-generation DRAM platform entered mass production, with feature spacing cut to about 11.95 nm via quadruple patterning and two new 24-gigabit LPDDR5X products already shipping (Reuters, 20 Sep). Company claims at least 50% more gross dies per wafer vs its fourth-generation 8-gigabit baseline, and process capability it calls on par with the most advanced mass-produced nodes.
Why it matters: Yesterday's Engram brief was about DRAM hierarchy eating HBM scarcity. Today's news is China scaling commodity DRAM denser and cheaper. Europe's memory story still sits on Samsung, SK Hynix, and ASML tools. Density wars do not wait for Gigafactory speeches.
